Hi everyone!
Hope your week started well in more ways than one! Unit 1 had a few challenges in it so let's get started....
_____________________________________
What do you think about the concept of following God's will 'one day at a time'? - did it challenge you in your daily walk, did it make you change how you look at your days/weeks?
Is anyone willing to share from one of the days in unit 1, what stood out to them/impacted them the most - a verse, a thought, a comment, a challenge?
On page 14-15 of Unit 1 it talks about God's will for our lives, it gives Jesus' example and then says: Watch to see where God is working and join Him! ....ever thought that way about your day? Did you try it - literally seeing where God is at work and joining Him in your days?
What do you think about this:
You do not get orders and then go out and do them. You relate to God, respond to Him, and adjust your life to Him so that He can do whatever He wants to do through you. (p.17)

...respond to one question or them all if you want! They are just to get you thinking. Don't worry about catching up if you have gaps for Unit 1 - run your eyes over what you have time for and then MOVE ON!! It's unit 2 this week. I'm looking forward to hearing your feedback and hearing how some of unit 1 might have challenged your thinking and way of operating day-in, day-out.
In the meantime... let's keep going!
PS - thanks for sharing with us Heather... looking forward to hearing from some others this week. If you're not sure how to comment, click on '0 comments' at the bottom of the post right next to the time and then go from there.

Hi! First confession is that we are brand new "bloggers", so this is a challenge in itself :-)!
As we didn't respond last week, here is a little about ourselves first... we are a young married couple with 2 small children, currently involved in youth work in our small community. I'll let my husband share his story at some stage, but my "nutshell" testimony is as follows. Whilst raised in a Christian home, I came to know the reality of God in my late teens, after the crisis point of breaking up with my boyfriend of 2 years (my wonderful, now husband -another whole story!). It was at this point I determined to take God at His Word where He promises we will find Him if we seek with ALL our heart. And so every evening I could, I would shut myself in my room, and I found God in a special way. I must confess now as a young Mum, that I struggle to find the time, as I did back then, and so it has been really encouraging to work through the "Experiencing God" material. (Thanks Karen for the opportunity). The timing of this study has been especially pertinent for us as we are having to make some big decisions regarding our future and the future of the ministry we are involved in.
Well, where do I start...everyday I was challenged with this material. In reference to pages 14-15 that you outlined Karen, I found the whole concept of changing our focus from "God's will for MY life" to looking at the bigger picture in terms of what God is doing, really enlightening. This flowed through to the biggest challenge for me during that first week in the questions on page 18, esp. no 3 - "...are we attempting very little that only God can do?". The "7 realities" process brought to life through Moses' example, are a refreshing look at how God really moves....I guess I could summarise the week in that it is fanning the fire within!
So...testimony...after your email last night Karen, I was thinking on your first question regarding following God's will "one day at a time", and esp in light of the commentary at the beginning of unit 2 about the students going out and seeing where God was working. I hadn't planned to go out today, so I must admit to assuming nothing out of the ordinary was likely to happen. BUT instead, God brought the opportunity to me! There was a knock on the door at lunchtime and a Christian community health worker who I know arrived, having just visited a young woman in our community who is struggling, and the health worker said "all through my visit, I kept thinking of you"! So she came straight round to ask me to visit this woman. This is the first time the health worker has ever approached me in this capacity, and yet its the sort of ministry God has put on my heart for a long time. Thank you God for this opportunity! I was able to vist the woman this afternoon, and whilst I haven't shared anything of a spiritual nature, it is the beginning of a relationship that God has initiated. Please pray...this woman is in need of real friendship and support. There is a lot of need like this around me, and I have been stirred for a few weeks now about starting a group reaching new Mums with the gospel. I'll keep praying that God reveals His will one day at a time!
Jenny, what you shared is SO encouraging! Thanks so much for taking the time to let us all in on how things are for you and part of your journey.
I look forward to hearing more as God continues to 'fan the fire' within!
Bless you heaps!
